Student Support

Male U-M student

At Student Affairs, our most basic task is helping students get the most out of their experiences at the University.  We provide support and strive to enhance the student experience and promote success and achievement.  Some of the support and resources we offer include:

  • Academic support - including an online search resource to help you find exactly what you need
  • Conflict resolution - including several places that can help you with legal conflicts, personal conflicts, and institutional issues
  • Individual support - including the Dean of Students - which offers support, programs, services, co-curricular opportunities, policy development and advocacy for students - and Services for Students with Disabilities, which provides support services and academic accommodations for over 1,200 mentally and physically disabled students.

Freshmen Orientation at the Winter Career Expo | Career Center

Student asking questions at a job fair

I’m a first year student….should I come to Expo? First year students are encouraged to attend the career fair and this year, with over 30 organizations interested in hiring first and second year students for internships, the Career Center is offering resources directly geared towards freshmen for them to have a very meaningful experience at the Expo. Because career fairs can be very large and intimidating, the Career Center is offering a “Freshmen Orientation at the Career Expo.”
