What off-campus housing neighborhoods might your student be considering for next year? German Town? The Old West Side? North Ingalls? Do they know who they want as housemates, roommates, neighbors and friends? How will they stay connected after leaving the tight community of the residence halls?
As many students prepare to travel during the week-long spring break later this month, officials with the university’s Stay in the Blue campaign are reminding students to be safe and legal while traveling and urging parents to reaffirm their expectations for their students.
In September, over 100 university students, faculty and staff attended the "Teach-In on Sexual Assault: Tools for Safety, Knowledge for Change," which was also broadcast in real time across campus for the entire community.
The University of Michigan and the City of Ann Arbor have long-standing commitments to provide a safe campus community for students. Recently there have been several serious assaults reported near the U-M campus. The university wants parents to know that there are many efforts in place to protect students and staff.
